Everyone loves data, right? Especially when that data is about your library and how it's used. In Client Services, we compile some of the most important figures for you -- and can help you find pretty much anything else.

Annual Report

Each year, library boards are required to fill out the Public Library Survey and Annual Report as part of the annual grant application process for provincial funding. If you require assistance with your library's Annual Report, our Client Services Librarians are happy to help but the process is fairly straightforward. Here is what you'll need:

  1. PLSB's LibPAS Companion Guide (PDF) gives you details as to what each field means and what you should report. 
  2. Previous year statistics: YRL supplies some of these for you. You will have recorded the rest throughout the year.
  3. Annual Report - Custom report: YRL runs this report for you and will email it to the library manager the first business day in the new year. Here are some answers to common questions about what to report:
  • Circulation > Direct Circulations > Virtual: Grab a calculator and add up the figures we provide for hoopla, OverDrive and RBdigital.
  • Electronic Performance Measures > Public Wi-Fi Sessions > Number of Wi-Fi sessions: Report the figure for your library from YRL's 2019 Wireless Statistics.
  • Information Services & Use > Library Use > Virtual visits: Report the number of sessions from YRL's 2019 WSFL Statistics.
