Makerspace Kits

Makerspace Kits are available for use within the library; usage must be supervised by library or teaching staff. These have been created for YRL member libraries to hold programming events in their library; individual items are not to be loaned to patrons for home use.

YRL is responsible for normal wear and tear of the Makerspace Kits; however, if there is any damage or loss, the borrowing library may be invoiced for replacement costs. Items are evaluated on a case by case basis.

Borrowing Procedures

Makerspace Kits may be borrowed for up to one month by school or public libraries. There is a limit of one Makerspace Kit per library per month.

    1. To request a kit, fill out our Kit Booking Request Form, or reach out to us at Include in your email any specific dates or timelines (e.g., need it for one weekend; two week loan) and we will do our best to accommodate.

    2. When you receive a Makerspace Kit, review the Detailed Content List included with each kit to ensure everything is there.
    3. When it's time to return the Makerspace Kit:
      • Be sure to return it when it is due. Late returns result in delays for other libraries.
      • Repack the kit using the Detailed Content List and Packing Instructions. Don't forget to complete the evaluation survey!
      • Report any missing or damaged items immediately to YRL.
